Why I'm building Einherjar Systems

I'm building Einherjar Systems, an AI consultancy starting with real estate. I want to apply AI to specific problems and help raise service standards across industries and government.

If a service can be delivered properly with less delay, I think that should become the standard.

How standards change

Before the telephone, people could wait days for a letter. Being able to speak directly changed what they could expect from communication.

I think AI could bring a similar change. Delays we accept today could become difficult to justify once better processes are available across an industry.

The implementation problem

AI tools develop quickly. I work with them full time and still find it hard to keep up.

My impression is that adoption across the economy is much slower. Someone has to identify where the tools are useful and make them work in an actual process. That is the work I want to help with.

Start with one problem

The approach that makes sense to me is to find one pain point where the benefit of solving it is clear, then automate that part of the process properly.

More AI usage or more compute does not guarantee a better result. A system can cost more than the benefit it produces. I'm interested in fully automating specific steps where that improves the service.

Why the name Einherjar

One-person companies fascinate me, including the possibility of a one-person billion-dollar company. I'm interested in how much of a business one person could cover with AI and the right systems.

The "army of one" idea fitted that. I chose Einherjar because the name felt appropriate, without having a deep personal connection to Norse mythology.

In mythology, the Einherjar are the warriors of Valhalla. "Army of one" is my association with the name. Dictionary reference.

What that could mean for society

I'm interested in what New Zealand could learn from efficient processes in places such as Japan and South Korea. I think better systems could help us raise standards while keeping the more relaxed approach to life I value here. That should not require everyone to work 70-hour weeks.

My interest is in the result for society: shorter unnecessary waits, better communication and more efficient services. I believe the benefit could be substantial if those improvements spread.

What I'm working on

For real-estate professionals, I can teach them to use AI, set up their tools and processes, or build and host automations they can trigger when they need an output.

Safety, governance, privacy and the problems AI can introduce all need to be considered in that work.
